Hi all! 👋

Do you know how controversial news stories usually release on a Friday? Right when people are tuning out for the weekend so there's less outcry. Well, that's how I feel about the timing of this newsletter with one of the programs below....😅

I also want to apologize for how 'wordy' this newsletter is. Sometimes I get too excited and over explain things. But I think it's all important. I also tried a new structure I'm not totally happy with. Let me know your thoughts! 💬

Project YSWS 🧱

A program where you can create workshops about your favorite technical topics and lead them with your club. Through this, you can teach your club a new skill, get them building projects, and receive funding for custom rewards. 🏆 A teen mentor to help you every step of the way!

If it's successful with your club, it could become an official YSWS program with Hack Club for any teenager around the world. 🌎 🌍 🌏

Vibes - Vibe Code a Website. Get Pizza. 🍕🍕🌈🌈

This is an experimental YSWS that is CLUBS ONLY!

Done laughing? 😅 I know, this sounds like a bad joke, but I'm totally serious. Also, many of you ask for the pizza grant. Here's a way to get it. 👀

As a beginning coder myself, learning this new skill is intimidating. Not only do we have to learn a new language, but we have to learn everything that goes with it. From index/css files, code editors, repositories, Git, and so on. It's....a lot to digest, especially if you've never heard of GitHub.

The goal here is to give full code for a website as 'training wheels' so they can focus on all of these new procedures and tools. 🛠️

Vibes - Workshop Structure ⚙️

This is broken into three parts. Here's how it will work:

🤖 Part One: AI Prompt
Enter a prompt into an AI to get code.

✍️ Part Two: Edit Content
Change the information, colors, fonts, 3etc.
🕹️ Part Three: Add Features
Independently or with AI, add more features so it works with the pre-existing code.

Example: AI Prompt -> background & content -> new feature (taskbar)

Good Club Vibes 🌈

Azmeer, a new leader from Egypt completed this with his club! He got 7 of his friends to participate. Looking through their GitHub profiles, a few of them had coded here and there, but most were building for the first time. They managed to ship within the first meeting.

After this, Azmeer's club was interested in more, and others wanted to join. They just completed a Boba workshop and are now considering other things they can build, like a three.js website with Polygon.

Awesome club you have there Azmeer 🙂

Start a Vibes Workshop 💬

This is all done through forms emailed to each individual participant. All you have to do is start the workshop, give the link for Part One to your members, then let them go!

💸💸💸 $5 per member who ships.
