Hi all! Thanks for being a part of Hack Club's Campfire!

I'm Reem (18 y/o and a gap year at Hack Club HQ). I lead the Athena Initiative, a group of programs at Hack Club dedicated to getting girls to learn to build projects, make friends and earn prizes for coding.

We’re inviting girls to join some upcoming opportunities - created just for you!

Now that Campfire's over, here's some events going on at Hack Club that you might love:

Welcome to Hack Club’s Sleepover!
Sleepover is a beginner-friendly coding program made by teen girls, for teen girls - just like yourself!

No experience is required — it’s designed especially for students who have never coded before.

Here’s how it works:
  • You spend 30 hours total learning and building small projects (that’s just ~10 hours a month).
  • For every hour you code, they earn feathers that can be redeemed for prizes like plushies, digital cameras, AirPods, iPads, and more.
  • Fly out to a slumber party themed hackathon in Chicago! Travel Grants available.

Along the way, we host step-by-step workshops, cozy late-night “lock-in” calls, and monthly challenges so no one is learning alone.

Stasis - a Hardware Hackathon in Austin, Texas
Never done hardware before? Do you want to learn how to build keyboards, robots, and circuit boards?

Introducing Hack Club's Stasis: where teenagers can design hardware projects and get $$$ to build them!

And, if you build 3 projects (~45 hours), you could be one of the 100 teenagers flown out to Austin, TX to compete in a 4-day hardware hackathon! All you have to do is:

  1. Sign up for Stasis at stasis.hackclub.com
  1. Refer your friends! The Stasis design and build platform will launch at 3,000 signups
  1. When the platform opens, start designing your projects! You can choose a starter project if you're a beginner, or make your own custom project

We need you at Stasis. Software is a completely male-dominated field, and for hardware that gender gap is even worse. Stasis is running workshops, lock-in calls, and other community events by teen girls, for teen girls. And we want to see you there.

These are both part of Hack Club's Athena Initiative, a group of programs at Hack Club dedicated to getting girls to learn to build projects, make friends and earn prizes for coding.

Any questions? Feel free to reach out to the Athena team.

Can't wait to see the projects you make!

Best,
Reem and the Athena Team
